I still don't believe with the broad brush of "global man-made climate change."

(Let's forget for a minute the scare of the '70s my Dad described to me, which was the coming ice age.) A little while ago, the "climate change" phenomenon went under the name "global warming." But Victoria has gotten colder. The balmy winters of the '90s, when I would have loved to go tobogganing, but couldn't, are impossible to forget...

And for the last couple years we have experienced the phenomena of Mayvember followed by Juneuary, a rash of pretty crappy summers with little hot flashes... followed by some of the worst winter weather I can remember. Sheet ice on the roads and blowing frozen powder!! Foot upon foot of snow lingering for weeks! My unremarkable part of the globe is not "warming." Therefore it is wrong to say the entire globe is warming.

Oh, that's right. It is now "climate change," in the same vein as the "war on terror" and the "economic crisis." Notice that together these problems are vague enough to cover any event and that they all beg openended, organized commitment to a power structure. There's just a little problem: I am a long-memoried, pragmatic type and I haven't seen the facts support any of these things as being anything more than invented and fairly well-executed dramas.
